Volunteers

The Arboretum offers many opportunities for active participation in caring for our trees. If you’re unable to physically participate on the grounds, there are still a variety of ways to help us obtain plants, equipment, materials, and funding.

Arboretum Quick Response Team

Sometimes “things” happen! If you would like to have your name on file for special events such as clean-up due to storm damage, planting trees that “suddenly” appear, etc., please contact the director.

Garden Clubs

Would your garden club be interested in adopting a bed (under large spreading White Pine trees) located along the main entrance to the College? All we ask is that your planting have a theme centered around native plants and that you can arrange watering (we will provide the hose and water) and weeding on a regular basis.

Interested in Trained Volunteer Activities?

Those who wish to specialize in certain activities may arrange special times for training with the Director. Some of these activities include:

  • Pruning Above & Below Ground (Root collar inspections)
  • Grim Weed Reaper – herbicide (RoundUp) applications
  • School Guide

Volunteer Work Days

In the future, we hope to offer Volunteer Work Days designed so that you can just drop-in to participate.
