About the Programs

Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) offers a variety of aviation maintenance training programs. The training facility is located in the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport, just minutes away from the BRCC main campus at Weyers Cave, Virginia. With more than 6,000 square feet of shop, classroom, and computer area, the space has been organized to give you every possible learning advantage. The shops are designed to make your work efficient, and the entire facility is equipped with the latest industry equipment and tools. Class size is limited, so you’ll receive individual help and attention. Your instructors are all experienced aviation professionals.

Program Options

There are three options for students pursuing Federal Aviation Adminstration (FAA) Certification as well as an option for students interested in becoming light sport aircraft pilots and mechanics. The requirements for the aviation maintenance technician options are listed in the BRCC College Catalog.

  3. Aviation Maintenance Technology Associate of Applied Science Degree

There are two options for students pursing Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certification as a Light Sport Repairman with a Maintenance Rating, commonly referred to as a Light Sport Mechanic or just Sport Mechanic:
