Exams will be administered at the Blue Ridge Community College testing center   (also called the Learning Assistance Center or LAC) in Weyers Cave, VA.  Please verify hours of operation with them so that you allow plenty of time to take your exam before the center closes (allow yourself 2 hours). The new policy for the testing center is that you need to begin your exam at least 2 hours prior to their closing, otherwise they will not allow you to take it.  There are 3 exams this semester including the Final Exam; please check the course calendar carefully to see when they are open.  Sometimes exams don’t follow a workweek exactly, such as for the Final Exam. Also, be sure to bring a valid photo ID when you go.  Without this, you will not be allowed to take it.

Periodic exams will cover the material in those chapters, including vocabulary, grammar, listening, writing, and cultural points.  The Final Exam is cumulative, covering all the material of the course.  All exams are taken online through Myspanishlab.  You log into Myspanishlab, find the exam and open it, and then the proctor enters the password.  You will be given a scrap piece of paper, should you request one, which will be returned to the test proctor upon completion of the test.

Securing an exam proctor. If you are out of the Blue Ridge Community College service area, it is your responsibility to set up arrangements to take your exam at another community college, and/or to get an approved exam proctor well in advance of the exam due date (at least two weeks in advance of the exam is advised).  Exam proctors must be a staff member at a college or university testing center, a full-time faculty member, or a professional librarian. Proctors cannot be a family member, employer, or someone with whom the student works. Proctors also cannot be a teaching assistant, athletic coach, or student worker.   Military students may use an educational or test control officer as their proctor. Incarcerated students should suggest an educator or counselor.  As the student, it is your responsibility to secure a proctor and to pay any fees charged by the proctor.
