Disability Services

What do I do if a student tells me they have a disability and need special arrangements or exceptions to complete assigned work or examinations?  What if I suspect a student has a disability?

If the student has completed the process with the Coordinator of Disability Services, the student will provide you with the Classroom Accommodation form that identifies his or her needs.  If a student has not met with the coordinator, you do not have to provide any special accommodations.  If the student requests an accommodation, please refer him or her to Krista Gisler in Student Services.  More detailed information about the process can be found on the Disability web site at: http://www.brcc.edu/services/disability/.

It is unlawful to directly ask a student if they have a disability.  However, if the student discloses to you that they have been diagnosed or even suspect they have a disability, please refer the student to our disability services counselor in Student Services.
