Online Courses
Online courses are delivered primarily over the Internet, although some courses may have attendance requirements or require on-campus or off-campus proctored testing. These courses are a great option for students who want optimum flexibility.
Internet courses are listed with a section number in the 60′s (as in BUS 200-60). SIS will contain a class note indicating that it is an Internet course as well as any course specific information.
Internet/Classroom “Hybrid” Courses
Some classes use a combination of Internet and classroom instruction and are listed with a section number in the 70′s. Instructors determine the number of class meetings and this information is usually provided in a class note in SIS.
Please note that computers are available at each of our locations for students’ use. You do not have to own a computer to take courses at BRCC.
Interactive Video
Interactive video courses use live, two-way television connections to send and receive courses and programs between Blue Ridge Community College and other educational institutions. These courses generally have section numbers in the 60′s, but will have scheduled meeting times and locations. The method of instruction listed in SIS for interactive video courses is “In Person.”
