Have you been awarded federal work-study and you have not interviewed for a position yet?  If so, visit our work-study web page  and review the list of available work-study jobs.  If you see one that you are interested in contact the supervisor for more information and set up an interview.  Make sure you present your Federal Work-Study Employment Authorization Form to the supervisor at the beginning of your interview.  On-campus positions are paid $8 an hour and our Off-campus community service students are paid $11 an hour.

Scholarship Information

Make sure you visit our Scholarship eBulletin Board through out the semester.  As scholarship notices come in we will post the announcement here.

Financial aid recipients must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards. Please review the College’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy and let us know if you have any questions.

If you officially or unofficially (drop-out) withdraw during a semester, the amount of financial aid that you have earned up to that point is calculated by a specific formula, known as Return of Title IV Aid. Federal regulations require Blue Ridge Community College to have a written policy for the refund and repayment of federal aid received by students who withdraw during a term for which payment has been received. These policies are effective only if the student completely terminates enrollment (i.e., cancels his/her registration, withdraws, or is dismissed) or stops attending classes before completing more than 60 percent of the enrollment period. If you receive more assistance than you earned, the excess funds must be returned. For more information click here

Yes, if you receive financial aid there is a requirement to attend class.  If you are reported by your instructor as never attending class then your financial aid awards will be adjusted accordingly.  So, make sure to go to class.

Your financial aid award(s) were based upon the assumption that you will enroll as a full-time student.  Adjustments for part-time enrollment will occur after the College’s Drop with a refund date.  Please review your Financial Aid information on MYBRCC after this date for award amount adjustments.

The Office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarships uses the BRCC Student Email System and MYBRCC to communicate official financial aid information to students.  We encourage students to monitor and use their BRCC email accounts as important financial aid information will be emailed throughout the academic year.  Visit MYBRCC and check you email today!
