BRCC is a member of the Virginia Community College System. Use of any computer on campus implies that you will comply with all VCCS information technology policies, as well as the BRCC policies below:
- Do not eat or drink in the computer labs.
- Put trash in the trash can and paper in the recycle bin.
- Do not change any of the software or hardware configurations on the computers.
- Do not smoke or use other tobacco products in the computer labs.
- Do not download or install any software. If you need to use a program that came on a disk with your book, ask the lab assistant for help.
- Please keep noise to a minimum, people are trying to do their assignments. (This includes music from the headphones.)
- Do not use cell phones in the computer labs. If you must use a cell phone, take it into the hallway or outside so you do not disturb other students doing their work.
- If you encounter any problem with a computer or printer, let the person who is working know, or fill out a Computer Problem Report form so that the problem can be fixed as soon as possible.
- Please do not use the open lab to play computer games. The open lab is for students who are working on assignments.
- Do not copy software; it is against the law. (The Virginia Crimes Act, Virginia – Title 8.01 Chapter 3, Federal – Computer Fraud & Abuse Act of 1986)
