Taking the Placement Test
At Home
Practice first! Go to www.testprepreview.com
- From the left hand column, choose “Free Practice Tests”
- Select “Compass Test Practice”
- Scroll down to “Self Assessment Modules”
- Choose the subject areas that you need
Day of Test
- Bring a photo I.D. and your EMPLID #
- Make sure you are well rested and have eaten before you begin the test.
- You do not need to take all 3 tests in one sitting. Consider taking a break between each test.
In the Learning Assistance Center
- Listen carefully and follow along as the Administrator gives you your instructions. Refer to the Instructions book that she gives you.
- READ ALL DIRECTIONS VERY CAREFULLY!
- Be thorough.
- Don’t rush. The tests are UNTIMED.
- Ask for help from the LAC Administrators
- Double check your answers
