Blue Ridge Community College is hosting a number of arts, health and career events to commemorate Women’s History Month in March.
Wednesday, March 12
Pottery demonstration by Terry Porter, 9:30-11:30 a.m., room V115 in the Fine Arts Center.
Friday, March 14
Jane Franklin Dance performs at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center theater. Tickets are $10 for adults and students in all grades and college are admitted free. Reserve seats at (540) 453-2215.
Wednesday, March 19
Mental Wellness presentation on depression, 1 p.m., Plecker Center auditorium.
Thursday, March 20
Documentary film on human trafficking: The Price of Sex, 4-5:15 p.m., Plecker Center auditorium.
Tuesday, March 25
Belly dancing performance and workshop, noon-1 p.m., Plecker Center room 126A.
Thursday, March 27
Non-traditional careers workshop, 10 a.m.- 3 p.m., Plecker Center. BRCC Career Services staff and employers will be on hand to answer questions and help with résumés.
Art exhibit entitled “Celebrating Women of Character, Courage and Commitment” featuring portraits by BRCC Drawing II students in the Kinetic Gallery of the Fine Arts Center.
