CLINICAL NURSING ADMISSION CHECKLIST
- Apply for admission to BRCC.
- Complete any needed College Preparedness testing.
- Review the information on the Nursing Program website.
- Complete the online Nursing Program Information Session and print your certificate of completion. This will be submitted with your nursing application.
- Request that official high school and college transcripts be sent to the Admissions Office. You do not need to have official transcripts sent from other Virginia Community College System colleges.
- If you are a LPN, have an official transcript from your LPN training program sent to the Admissions Office. Also send a copy of your current unrestricted Virginia LPN license.
- Take the nursing entrance test (TEAS) or provide NET scores of 45% or more on the reading and math sections that were earned within the last 3 years. Successful applicants usually earn scores in the 80 to 90% range.
- Print the Clinical Application packet from the Nursing Program website (will be posted November 1, 2010).
- Complete the Application to the Nursing Clinical Component form and submit it in person to the Nursing Office by the application deadline. Include the printed copy of your information session quiz.
- Distribute your reference forms and make sure your references are aware that the forms must be returned to the Nursing Office by the final application deadline. Check with your references prior to the deadline to be sure they have submitted the form.
- Check your VCCS email for communication from the Nursing Department.
- You will be notified in writing about whether you were selected for admission to the clinical component of the program. Be sure that the address in the Student Information System is your correct mailing address!
