Located on Virginia Tech’s Leesburg Campus of the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, the du Pont Scott Equine Medical Center offers an exciting and challenging professional environment in a 24-7 emergency care and referral teaching hospital of international renown.
Available is a full time position for a Licensed Veterinary Technician (VTS Anesthesia preferred) with interest and experience in equine anesthesia. The position provides anesthesia services for elective and emergency surgical, medical and diagnostic procedures as well as research and teaching of technical skills in anesthesia and critical care. It also provides the full range of technical support to either the surgery, emergency or medicine teams. We are looking for a team player with experience in equine anesthetic procedures, methods of assessment of physical status, induction, maintenance, monitoring and recovering patients from general anesthesia. Knowledge of medical terminology, medications, equipment and ability to handle and care for critical care horses is expected.
