Ski and Snowboard Classes

BRCC offers beginning and advanced classes in both skiing and snowboarding as  Spring 1st 8 week courses. These are 1 credit PED courses. There is a REQUIRED on-campus orientations session, generally the first Monday of Spring session, generally 12:30 or 6PM (attend one or the other), where fees must be paid. Actual classes meet at Massanutten Resort, generally on Wednesdays; afternoon or evening depending on the section.

Included are 6 sessions on the mountain. Four include a 90 minute lesson from a certified Massanutten instructor, as well as all the practice time you can or care to fit in! The other two you may complete on your own time during those 6 weeks, though not on a lesson day nor a weekend day. Equipment rental is also included. Plus a free tubing session, and an additional free March slope pass..we estimate the actual dollar value of the package at around $600…

..but this is what the student pays, in addition to the 1 credit tuition:

Basic: $144   Provide your own equipment: $132

For G.E.R.M. (Massanutten Resort) employees and season pass holders: $72

GERM and pass holders who wish to rent equipment: $84

Clearly this is the best value around, and quite likely the most fun class you will ever take in college!

Please see the catalog to confirm current prices and other details, also keep in mind this IS an academic class and does have strict attendance policies and college-appropriate responsibility expectations/demands.

Upon registration you should visit the blackboard site for syllabus and other important detail documents,  fairly recent (though not always current as for dates) versions of which you can access below:
